2015 was full of so many new things, some good, some not so good. I feel so incredibly blessed to be where I am today. Before I share what goals I have for this year, I wanted to share with you some of the big things that happened last year.
The very first thing I did was move out here to Arizona. That in its self was a huge feat for me. I took a leap of faith and packed up everything, ended my lease and headed to Arizona with no promise of a job. I started looking for a job months before, trying to get ahead of the game. Sadly no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t even get an interview until I actually made it out here. Long story short, a little more than a month after I moved I started my job at Bonneville. And I have to say, I work for an amazing company.
Shortly after I made it out here to the wonderful desert my childhood dog, Toby, passed away. I was heart broken (and still am), he was the best dog that anyone could ask for. I think about him at least once a week.
My furbaby turned 5 this year. We didn’t get to celebrate it like I wanted to. It’s okay, I AM a crazy dog person and I will not hide it haha.
My mom made it out here and I showed her around (the little bit that I knew), and had a good time. It was nice to be able to spend time with her.
I came up with a crazy idea that I wanted to start a blog again. I had one many years ago but then let it float off into the abyss that we call the internet. I didn’t maintain it and so much had happened since my last post, I felt that I just needed a clean slate. Thus Powerful Positivity was born!
I dyed my hair bright again, for the first time in almost 4 years. You can see the post I did about it, here. It had been so long I didn’t want to go full blown bright, so I just did my under layers. A little splash of color to brighten my day.
My car got broken into for the first time, and they stole my purse. The one time I left it in there… I know, I know… I learned my lesson though. A very expensive lesson, but I learned from it. They damaged not only my window, but both my drivers door and my passenger side door, and paint damage on both sides. Luckily, the culprit got away with no money, just a couple sentimental things, like my favorite zippo lighter and my small sketchbook that I got the last time I went to Trinidad and my cute green purse that I had for a couple years. I felt so violated and it took me a little bit to get back up from that emotionally.
A couple of my best friends came to visit and we had a great time. We floated down the river and had some good meals together. I missed them so much (and still do!) It was so nice to be able to spend time with them when I knew I wouldn’t be able to go home for a little bit.
My best friend Megan got engaged, and I was so happy to be there for her special moment back home in Texas.
I got engaged! See that story here.
Last year was full of surprises and new things with new places. This year will be even better! I am so excited to see what kind of shenanigans I will get into and excited to share all sorts of things with you guys.
