I found a great recipe for chocolate chip cookies, and you will never believe where I found it. The back of the bag! Typically I don’t ever try recipes on the products that I buy. Mainly because I don’t want to deal with finding corn free products to use. The only reason this ended up happening is due to the fact I couldn’t find a recipe and just so happened to look at the back of the bag.
Here is their recipe:
2 1/2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups (12 oz) Guittard Semisweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment or use ungreased. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In large bowl, cream butter, sugar and brown sugar until light. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth. Gradually add flour mixture until combined. Stir in chips and walnuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 7 dozen 2-inch cookies.
When I first made these I didn’t realize that it made 7 dozen until I was mixing the ingredients together and thought to myself “dang this is a lot of sugar and a lot of butter”. Whoops! I took cookies to work, Chris took cookies to work. We pretty much had at least one cookie a night for more than a week. So many cookies! Next time I make them, I’m going to cut it in half.
