Society Perception Overview
One woman walks down a busy street. She is considered overweight and is dressed in slacks and a blazer with her hair up in a bun as she races to her next meeting. Another woman walks up the busy street at the same time, yet she is thin and is dressed in a tight mini dress and heels with her hair blow dried and her makeup to the nines. Which gets recognized in society as the better woman?
Usually, the woman who is thin, with tight clothing and hair and makeup would call the most attention from other dwellers on that busy street. Why does society recognize beauty as this weapon and attention driven attribute? How has society morphed its standards into this selection of fat and thin and professional and slutty?…
Why Can’t a woman have dangerous beauty (in the eye of the beholder) and still have respect for their lethal intelligence?
Beauty’s Perception in Society
Beauty in our modern day society is split up into many different sectors and categories. FYI most women don’t even fit into any of them; all women are beautiful in their own right! Some of the categories are fit, thin and fat. How degrading does it feel for someone to place you into one of those categories just by their perception without consulting or harboring your personal feelings toward the matter? IT IS RUTHLESS! It is painful to be scrutinized and looked upon as a beauty subject instead of a person full of depth and levels of beauty.
The definition of beauty is always, in my opinion, seen as a weapon to those who fit that societal mold. If society does not deem you beautiful in their book, it can be very detrimental to one’s self esteem and self image perception.
Don’t let society hinder your confidence! Your own personal beauty is one of your weapons in your pleathera of weapons, because you are a woman with depth!
Intelligence’s Perceptions in Society
Intelligence to some is a rare commodity, but I personally feel that there are different versions or types of intelligence that occupy one person or one segment of society. Not everyone is intelligent in the same way, if that was the way our society was we wouldn’t have new technology or life hacks or a Ninja Blender that has many attachments (my new Feb. present)! Think about all the types of intelligent terms someone has used to describe you over the years. The few that I have heard are all about “book-smart”, “street smart” or “you have great common sense”. Those are again subcategories that create these tiers and levels of self acclimation and confidence barriers.
Intelligence, in my view, is seen as inferior to beauty. It does not hold the same lust for most or the same appeal to the opposite sex, normally speaking, because beauty is a physical thing that can be touched and seen with one’s eyes (still in the eyes of the beholder of course), but intelligence is intangible. It is something that is measured by skewed exams and life tests, but will never have the same emotional or physical appeal that beauty has.
Society may dictate your type of intelligence, but intelligence in any fashion should become your secret intangible, lethal weapon. Use it wisely and on those you want to show your kick-ass skills too!
Don’t be afraid to wear that business suit or that messy bun and don’t be afraid to show your intelligence and break the stereotypical mold that is set that should have never existed in the first place. Don’t be afraid to use your personal beauty or intelligence to your advantage and level the playing field with your ideas and opinions.
YOU matter. YOU are important. YOU are beautiful and intelligent in your own right. YOU are a woman and YOU are amazing.
