This year I have fallen in love with making wreaths. I’ve wanted a new one for my front door for the past couple years so I figured this year was the best time to just do it. My best friend, Kallee and I went to Michael’s to go get supplies for this post and it turned out they were having a wreath making event where all you had to do is buy the wreath and they gave us all the fixings for it. Talk about awesome! I was stoked, and they had people there to help create them just incase there were any questions. From that moment on I was addicted.
When I went home for Thanksgiving, I made my mom a set of wreaths for her house. All that is needed is a trip to Michael’s. Other than the greenery, ribbon, accents and a couple flowers you will need a glue gun and some wire cutters (for taking apart and/or trimming). Oh, and don’t forget the wreath!
The first thing I do is arrange everything on top and figure out how exactly I want it to look. After I figure out how I want everything arranged I take apart the flower(s) to place it where it looks good with the rest of the greenery. The best thing about using a grapevine wreath is that it is easier to intertwine everything.
After everything is perfect I take my handy-dandy glue gun and glue everything down. It really isn’t that difficult to do and you can have so much fun with it and make it how you want. I really like having bows on my wreaths. I’m also obsessed with wrapping presents, so this time of the year is perfect for me.
I love how they turned out, and I had a lot of fun making them. It really helps me get into the holidays. Here are a couple of others that I have made this season.
Any suggestions on things that could be done better or easier?
