I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, I know I did! Here are some positive quotes to get your week started! I have something great to tell all of you. I’m super excited to share with you what is going on in my life. Last week was definitely interesting. Stay tuned!
We may not all be Yogis or avid feng shui participants at heart, but there are some simple tips we can all take to adding and welcoming positive energy into our homes.
Tip 1: Adding specific colors to change and adapt your home energy
This relates back to my previous post about painting bold or painting neutral ; it all depends on the energy and vibes you are wanting to bring into your home. I just read a great blog post on Psychics Universe where Laura Hamilton speaks about the importance of color in your home. Here are her quick tips on color and what vibes they bring:
No matter what colors are used in your decor, be sure to strive for balance in your home.
What is no longer serving a purpose to you or your family? Do you have items that simply just exist but are jut lying around waiting to be utilized? Those items/ belongings are known not only as your homes clutter but also your life’s clutter. By going through and really testing your knowledge of what you use and what benefits you, you will be able to de-clutter your home and let the positive energy rain over you and your guests! My clutter usually occurs with my crafting supplies, I refuse to throw out anything because at some point in time I may need it… the old saying right? Here are some guidelines for deciding the items benefit to your life…because I know its hard:
Guideline 1: Have you used it within the past year?
Guideline 2: If you have used it, how many times in the past 6 months?
Guideline 3: Does it serve a purpose or is fun fluff?
Tip 3: Aromatherapy
Smells make me happy. Happiness equals positivity. Done deal. Make your home smell good and everyone will be happy. Here are some awesome smells that I personally use in my apartment/now my new home. The earthly smell of cedar brings warmth into my home. I found it at Chakra 4 Herbs Co. Grapefruit is also another fresh and vivid cent that seems to bring a lot of vibrancy into my work space. I also found it here at Chakra 4 Herbs Co. the romantic smell of rose blend ads just the right amount of love into my home. Click here to view it.
Plants are like children in my opinion. They need a lot of love and attention as well as multiple feedings to ensure their well being. I myself do not have the greenest thumb, but I do love the smells and the life that plants bring to my home. So, because of my lacking green thumb abilities, I tend to gravitate to certain flowers and succulent plants that may not require as much attention and are more in the toddler stage or adolescent age of plant-hood. Here are some of my favorites for all my other non-green-thumbers.
This is one of my favorite home decor items to shop for, so don’t mind if I DO hang a mirror in every room… it brings positivity in! There is no discrimination between shapes, sizes, lengths, colors; they are all welcome in your home as long as you love it. Keep in mind you always want to maximize your space so be aware of how large of a mirror depending on the location in your room and the space available. Another tip when implementing this positivity tip is to remember not to imbalance your room color scheme too much (refer to tip 1 of this post).
